Sa'eed bin Mansur (Died 227 AH) narrates like this :
'Alqamah narrates that we were with an army in the land of rome, With us was Huzaifa bin Al-Yaman and Al-Walid bin 'Uqbah was leader (Ameer) upon us and he drank wine. So we decided to confront him. Huzaifa told : Do you wish to confront your leader ? The situation is you are sorrounded by enemies and they are seeking you. When this news reached Al-Walid he said : I will drink even if it is forbidden and I will drink no matter what you think.
Now same narration is transmitted by Ibn Abi Sha'ybah via same chain but he has hidden the name of Al-Walid bin 'Uqbah by saing "وعلينا رجل من قريش فشرب الخمر [and upon us was leader from Quraish who drank wine] as he was brother of Uthman bin 'Affan from his mother and a Companion.
