42. Muslim and Khateeb Al-Baghdadi distorted a narration in which Ibn Abbas says that Aisha had grudge of Ali (as).

Ahmad bin Hanbal (Died 241 AH) narrates like this :

Narrated by 'Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin 'Utbah that Aisha said : Prophet (ﷺ) first fell ill in the house of Maymoona. I got permission from his wives to pass the recovery in my home and they let him. Prophet (ﷺ) left while two men were holding his shoulders carrying him and Prophet’s legs were dragging on the ground due to the intensity of disease. Fadhl bin Abbas and another Man were holding his shoulders.

“Ubayd Allah” narrated that  I said to “Abdullah bin Abbas” what “Aisha" had said, “Abdullah” said: Do you know the man whose name wasn’t told by “A’isha”?

I said: No I don’t,

He said: He was “Ali bin Abi Talib” But she is averse to name him in a good context.

Musnad - Ahmad bin Hanbal // Volume 43 // Page 86 - 87 // Number 25914 // Edn. Risalah Al-Alamiyyah Beriut Lebanon.

It is also narrated by Abdur Razaq San'ani (Died 211 AH) with same chain and same wording.

Musanaf - Abdur Razaq // Volume 5 // Page 78 - 79 // Number 10497 // Edn. Dar Al-Tasil Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

As this narration clearly proves that Aisha had grudge against Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as) as is evident from this sentence of Ibn Abbas :

But she is averse to name him in a good context.

When this narration was later narrated by Muslim bin Hajaj (Died 261 AH) and Khateeb Al-Baghdadi (Died 463 AH) they both erased out this sentence from the narration although chain of narration is exactly same.
