Lying is habit that has been one of the attributes of the Nawasib, that dates from whence they selected a leader who had the audacity to lie right before the Mistress of the women of Paradise(as). Ibn Taimiyyah, the legendary scholar of the Nawasib excelled in this field, particularly when it came to the merits of Ali bin Abi Talib (as) and refuting the Shi'a scholars.
His full name was Taqi ud-Din Abu-l-’Abbas Ahmad Ibn ‘Abd al-Halim Ibn ‘Abd as-Salam Ibn Taimiyah al-Harrani al-Hanbali. He was born on Monday the 10th of Rabi’ al-Awwal 66l H./22nd of January 1263 C.E. at Harran. He spent his life on a personal crusade against those Muslims that he deemed deviants. He courted much controversy, reviled by his contemporary ‘ulama’. He was imprisoned by the authorities on many occasions and was made to repent several times.
Today's salafism is much influenced by him that he truely can be described as "Godfather of Salafism".
