Shaykh of Salafis Ibn Tahmiyyah while refuting Shi’a author Allamah Ibn Mutahar AlHilli quotes a narration like this :
قال رسول الله : لو لم أبعث فيكم لبعث فيكم عمر وهذا اللفظ في الترمذي
Prophet of Allah said : If I would not have been sent among you [as a Prophet (pbuh)] then Umar would have been sent. This is the wording in Sunan Tirmidhi

This was a Lie from Ibn Tahmiyyah that this Narration is from Tirmidhi.
Even the Salafi investigator of this book in footnotes couldn’t write where is it written in Sunan Tirmidhi.
We also checked all Narrations of Sunan Tirmidhi but couldn’t find this wording anywhere.
