Chapter One - Ahmad Raza Barelvis Takfeer on Abu Talib and our replies

Since the Barelvi clergy are becoming increasingly more aggressive today's the Shia community, with a particular focus on their highlighting the fact that "the Shia disrespect such and such an individual who we adore" allow us to turn the tables on them. Hadhrath Abu Talib (as) is the uncle of the Holy Prophet (saaws) and the father of Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). When Rasulullah (saaws) was orphaned, he (as) raised and protected Rasulullah (saaws) from the evil machinations of the Kuffar throughout his life. Now, observe how the head of the Barelviyya Sect, Shakyh Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi regarded him. He penned an entire booklet to prove that Abu Talib (as) was a kaafir, called 'Sharhu al-Matalib Fi Mabhathi Abi Talib' that appears in volume 29 of Fatawa Radhawiya. We quote four extracts :

1) from the Quran, numerous Sahih Hadith hadith proves Abu Talib's, and refusing to recite the kalima on his death bed, and his being amongst the companions of Hellfire is proven so clearly that no sunni can deny this

(Source: Fatawa Radhawiya, Volume 29, Pg 662)

2) it is recorded in Mirqat (of Mullah Ali Qari) in the opinion of the Ahlul Sunnah, Abu Talib was not Muslim.

(Source: Fatawa Radhawiya, Volume 29, Pg 703)

3) Allamah Khafwaji said "this is a response to some Rawfidh who believe in the iman of Abu Talib"

(Source: Fatawa Radhawiya, Volume 29, Pg 705)

4) when the Kufr of Abu Talib is a clear as sunlight if you're stating (ra) as a statement how can you, if as you are directing it to a kaafir if your saying (ra) if is as a supplication, Rasulullah (saaws) told us not to supplicate for the Kuffar

Reply One – Renowned Sunni Ulema attested to the iman of Abu Talib (as)

Interestingly, 3 Sunni scholars held with high esteem amongst the Barelviyya opined that Abu Talib (as) was a believer

Three names

1) Yusuf bin ismael al Nubhani

2) Ahmad bin Zaini Dhalan

3) Bazranji

The pages wherein they have attested as such are attached herewith.

As per the Fatawa of Shaykh Ahmad Raza what opinion should we hold of these three scholars? Should they be ex communicated and be deemed non Sunni and Rawafidh on account of their belief that Hadrath Abu Talib (as) was a Muslim?
